DENTAL
Dentists use X-ray to visualize diseases of the teeth and surrounding tissue which cannot be seen with an oral exam. Both panoramic and cephalometric imaging allow the dentist to see the whole mouth, from different perspectives, in a single digital X-ray image. Panoramic imaging is used when a frontal view is needed while cephalometric imaging provides a profile view. Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) allows dentists to get a 3D view which can be paired with advanced diagnostic and surgical planning tools, to quickly resolve dental issues. Spectrum Logic has developed X-ray detectors and sensors suitable for dental applications.
